Ellsworth Kelly in focus

Ellsworth Kelly had an exhibition in the Tate Liverpool that I went to see today whilst I was in Liverpool. It showed a number of paintings which where made to be seen as objects because of how they had been mounted. They sat out from the wall to make them stand out and make them more physical objects. All the paintings had been cut into different shapes and merged together to create something unique. The artist used abstract shapes and intense colour within the paintings. This allowed me to see how certain colours can work together and an understanding on how the shadows are formed from the shapes.
